How long have you played Star Wars Galaxies?


I've been playing for a little less than 900 days. That was a few months before the CU hit our lives


What other MMOs have you played?


I've played quite a few of them actually... Ultima Online, EverQuest, Planetside, Cox, LOTRO, Guildwars, Anarchy Online, Dungeons and Dragons, The Fourth Coming, Lineage, Silkroad, Voyage Century Online and Vanguard. That's about it... maybe I'm missing one or two, but I guess this is it.


How long is your typical gaming session when playing Star Wars Galaxies?
On weekdays I usually play from 7pm to 1am... sometimes I play until 3am, but very seldom, I have to get up at 6 to go to work. During the weekends, as I usually play later than usual, I would say from 2pm to... well, sometimes to the next day.

What does a typical Star Wars Galaxies day consist of for you?


I'd say depends whether we're considering an evening session or a weekend one. On evening, I'm usually having a last look at the forums, then I'd greet my friends and check if any of them needs help. I've always been player-oriented rather than selfish. Whatever the game, I usually try to play with my friends, even if I have to cancel something for myself.


What was the race and profession of your very first character?

My main character is a human scout that would later become a master ranger and master creature handler then... well, quite a few other professions actually before turning Force Sensitive, then jedi. This character is still my main and is nowday an elder jedi and still jedi actually. Yet, the profession I liked most were ranger and creature handler as they were back then.



Who got you into gaming and what kind of games do you like?

None got me into gaming... I started long ago when I had my first computer. I usually played role playing games, soccer games, tennis games, sport management games and action/adventure games



Do you have any other hobbies then playing Star Wars Galaxies?


Sure, I'm fond of basketball and a big fan of Tony Parker who grew up in my hometown near Rouen. We played in the same club, yet he's much younger than me. I'm also keen on English Soccer, England, movies and music. Nothing too extraordinary finally.

What is your highest level Character in Star Wars Galaxies?


All my main characters are 90. Well, let's say that my highest is 93 actually, since when the NGE hit our servers, I had to grind up to 86 on lava fleas, since I already had finished about 90% of ToOW. Though there was a bug at the time and we had to use respec if we wanted to get the profession items. As I didn't really wanted to respec, I randomously picked a profession. Hard luck had it, I picked entertainer, and eventhough I was an entertainer for 5 minutes before respecing back to jedi, I was back to 80. I then ticketed and a few days later, a CSR granted me back a few lost level, yet not all of them. The CSR turned me into a CL83 jedi, then I finally lost 3 levels, hence I would say I'm a CL93 jedi now


What race and profession is your main character?
As stated previously, my main character is a human jedi. Back then, human was the most versatile race, hence it was perfect for the noob I was back then.


What do you like the most about the profession you have chosen for your main character?
Actually, even if technically, my character is a jedi, he does not consider himslef as a jedi. Jedis are nothing but a legend. My character is actually a kind of modern druid : he's background as a ranger and a creature handler has granted my main character a strong feeling with Nature. Hence, my character considers he was given everything he has by Nature, and even his so particular powers. I really enjoy playing him not as a jedi but as a modern day druid. Back preNGE, my character was both a creature handler and a jedi. Well, until there was the creature handler's revamp and I decided quiting this profession, since I felt it would never again be a creature handler again. So, yes, I'd say that playing a jedi helps me keep a stong connection with the natural aspect of my character : what jedis call Force, I call that Nature...

What faction is your main character and why?

My character is Imperial at the moment. Not really concerned with imperial matters. Basically, I turned imperial for pilot and badge hunting reasons. Deepheartedly, my character is neutral. He considers both the Empire and the Alliance have good ideas, yet none of them is really concerner by anything else than power. Rebels call it Freedom, Imperial call this Order, yet both are fighting for power. My character is more concerned by the only thing that matters to him : Life. Hence he wants to make sure living creatures will be the true winners in this Civil War, whatever the winning faction. Once again, he sticks to a druidical point of view.

What is your favorite ground vehicle?

I'd have to say I'm keen on the desert skiff. I like its design as well as the fact that it's a very handy transportation when it comes to a group. Moreover, it is usually a good moment to share with friends when we all just have to wait until we're arrived. I usually had great laughters when on desert skiffs


What is your favorite player owned ship?
Definitely the Y8 mining vessel : this ship is huge (quite a pity we can place so few items into it). I really enjoy piloting it. The piloting area is... breathtaking


Which professions in Star Wars Galaxies have you NOT played?
I played too many to remind the few I didn't play


What is your favorite expansion?
I would say Jump to Lightspeed. I started playing SWG a few months after JTL was released anf bought JTL the next month I started. JTL was really a new dimension given to SWG and... well, it was very Star Wars. I remind my first steps as a pilot, back then very few of us were masters and taking down the corvette was quite difficult. I remember being a full group (20 members back then) and having huge and difficult fights against the Corvette.

What is your favorite planet and why?

Naboo, since I had my first house there and it's one of the most natural planets. I like its green landscape., even if I recently discovered a green valley on Lok. Well, Naboo's my favourite, definitely.



Which planet do you like the least?

I'd say Talus or Corellia. Two planets, yet very similar. I'd rather have a few planets, yet each being a different world


Which expansion do you like the least?
Trial of ObiWan I guess. Maybe because basically it symbolizes the NGE. Even if I think the NGE was quite necessary, the way it turned on our lives servers had a dramatic echo among the community, with so many departed players.

What is the most credits you have ever spent on purchasing a single item for one of your characters?

I'd say 6M. I'm not really concerned neither with credits making nor with buying expensive stuff. Usually when I want something, I try to earn it with my own prowesses rather than my credits
What do you like best about Star Wars Galaxies?
The freedom we have, the communities we meet, the roleplay we can have, and the players we meet. Some of them being nearly friends



Describe your best experience playing Star Wars Galaxies


It was on my very first hours of play when I discovered creature handlers. I spent the whole evening following two of them and... I knew right then I'd be a creature handler


What type of pets do you have?


I had many. One of those I clearly missed was my carrion spat called Carrie. It was a bio-engineered pet and when we used to have a fight with a few friends against Necrosis (no jedi in our group back then, when Necrosis could be taken down by groups with jedis only, save a few exception). I'd usually send Carrie aggro and tank Necrosis and guess what... Carrie was an amazing tank, helping us to concentrate on firing at Necrosis and finally kill him. This pet was soooo special.


Do you run or work for a Star Wars Galaxies Fan Site?
I'd have to say yes, a few. I actually run SWG Badgetracker, where badge hunters can see where they stand against other badge trackers serverwise or overall, I also run DWB Craft where customers could book a craft until Chap 6 hit live and my guild's website. I also work as a moderator and redactor for swg-fr, the "official" French Speaking SWG Fansite


Who is your best friend in the game? And did you have any apprentice. Or have you been a mentor for someone?
My best friend would be my wife IRL who plays my half sister ingame. Apart from her, I'd say Graooar, a smuggling wookie would be my best friend. Never had any apprentice nor mentor. I was not really into the Jedi stuff . The only way I'd have mentorized anybody, it would be for PvE content with my first guild : they used to say that if you wanted anything as regards Kashyyk or Mustafar... well, turn to Gilce, he'd know how to do and would eventually help you suceed in your quest


Do you run a PA?
Yes and no actually. I used to lead my guild before we merged with another one. Now, I share the leadership with two other people


What type of work do you do in real?
I'm an IT manager for a French car dealer

Sure, I'd like to thanks one of the very few players I met in game. Back then, he was a mighty bounty hunter. I say mighty, since he really appeared to be a mighty warrior to me when I was a noob. Cranium Richards, if you read these lines, there's still someone in this galaxy awaiting for you. Another one would be Epast, another disappeared friend that shared my very first hours of play. Without them, my world would have been different.
