MUTATIONS

We have no idea, yet. Dev posts on mutations.

Blixtev

Yes mutagen % will help trigger mutations but there is a aspect no one has picked up on yet.  Anyone ever wonder why there are enzymes with different colors?

You are correct, I did not post off of a rumor. I checked my logs. I log all mutations, whether they be type 1 or full fledged mutations. In this case, the player had a full fledged mutation. The beast completely changed. I dont know if they know it or not. I am still waiting on them to log in for the day. I may end up sending them an in-game email. It is very exciting to finally see a mutation happen. It is intentionally rare, and I know that to some it may seem like it is really not in, but it is.

Just so you all know the difference, a type 1 is a mutation you get when the creatures actual appearance doesnt change. A full fledged mutation is the more rare kind and it is the kind that will actual change the appearance of your beast. Type 1s give your beast a small attribute boost, kind of a reward for aligning all the moons correctly.

DevH

I remember one time when I offered to spawn a DJK (Dark Jedi Knight) for a player who had helped me out with investigating an issue.  The player asked me if I could make the DJK drop such and such rare loot, and my response was that I couldn't do that because loot generation was totally random, so even though I could spawn a MOB that *could* drop such and such rare loot, there was still a very high chance that such and such rare loot would *not* be dropped.  As percentage would have it, that DJK ended up dropping just normal, common loot.

I once asked Loche what I needed to do to "legitimately" get a mutant, and Loche's response reminded me of the response I gave to the player who asked if I could make the DJK drop such and such rare loot.  And that's all I'm going to say or else Loche and Big B will push sharp pins into my fingernails.  Besides, I actually don't know squat about all the math and formulas involved in mutation without doing much code digging.
