Auto-Aim Targeting
Take control over combat with Auto-Aim Targeting! Now you can lock on to any target to ensure that you are engaging the enemy target you choose in the heat of battle. To access the new targeting options, open your keymap options and select the key bindings for "Toggle Auto-Aim" and "Set Intended Target."
Either click on a target or use the Tab key to get your green targeting brackets . The target in your green brackets is your Intended Target.
Now, your main attack will always attack your intended target (the enemy in the green brackets), and it will be easy to attack the right target in a crowd.
How to turn on Auto-Aim Targeting:
- Press "O" or use the main game menu to open up your Options window.
- Click the "Keymap" Button on the left hand side of the window.
- Click the "target" tab.

- Next, click the option for "Toggle Auto Aim".
- Rebind "Toggle Auto Aim" to the key of your choice.
* Instructions for re-binding your key map have been provided below for your convenience.
How to turn on Auto-Fire for your Primary Attack
With this exciting new Auto-Aim targeting feature, you can also toggle your primary (or main) attack to Auto-Fire. Auto-Firing simply means that once you begin combat, your Primary Attack will fire continuously in combat.
How to turn on Auto-Fire:
- Press "O" or use the main game menu to open up your Options window.
- Click the "Keymap" Button on the left hand side of the window.
- Click the "target" tab.
If your Option window is already open and you are on the "target" tab, begin here.
- Next, click the option for "Toggle Repeat Auto Attack".

- Rebind "Toggle Repeat Auto Attack" to the key of your choice.
The suggesting binding is to the tilde (~) key.
Rebinding your Radial Menu
If you turn on these two new features (Auto-Aim and Auto-Fire), you may need to re-bind your Radial Menu depending on how you have your key mapping customized.
You can easily re-bind your radial menu to a new key if you like.
Here's how to do it:
- Press "O" or use the main game menu to open up your Options window.
- Click the "Keymap" Button on the left hand side of the window.
If your Option window is already open, begin here.
- Click the "ui" tab.

- Select the "Select Target and Summon Radial Menu" Option.
- Rebind "Select Target and Summon Radial Menu" to the key of your choice.

* The suggested key binding for this feature is the second mouse button.
Mapping the Radial Menu this way will make the object under your cursor appear as your intended target and open the radial menu for that object. Attackable objects have to be clicked twice to have their radial menu opened.
Some additional Tips:
- If you use the Auto-Aim , Auto-Target , and Select Target and Summon Radial Menu s as listed here, they should all work together to create a more natural feel to the interface. We hope these Chapter 2 User Interface changes make your game-play more fun!
- The "Attack" option on radial menus has been reactivated. It will now enable Auto-Aim mode and start Auto-Firing at the target.
- If you remap your second mouse button to activate the Radial Menu, you should make sure that your, " Actions can be fired from Toolbar" is enabled because you won't be able to select a secondary attack and right-click to use it any more.
Key mapping: Getting back to Basics
Galaxies has quite a lot of keyboard customizations. With all the different customization possibilities and the recent feature improvements, you may find that this guide isn't giving you the feel of targeting that you were looking for.
What may help you is to go back to the basics. Change the keyboard controls back to the default map, take a moment to play using the new control settings and re-customize your keyboard controls based on the new settings.
Here's how:
- Click the "Restore Default" button on the Key Map window.
This will clear all of your previous key bindings (It might help to jot down a few details about your current customizations so you can consider them again later on).
- Close the options window.
- Press "Y" on your keyboard. This toggles on your Auto-Aim feature.
How to Rebind an Attack or Action
Rebinding commands, attacks or actions is called "Keymapping". Keymapping allows you to re-assign game execution functions to keyboard keys of your choice.
Here is how you do it:
1. Go into your Options window by pressing "O".
2. Click the "Keymap" button on the left hand side of your Options window.
3. Use the tabs in the TOP half of the Keymap window to find the option you wish to rebind or "map" to.
4. When you find the command, attack or action you wish to rebind, click on the row. You will know you picked the right one because it will be highlighted.
5. Click the "Rebind" button.
6. A "Keybinding Entry" window will open up. Now, when you press a key, it will show up in the window. Whatever you press will be the key you will bind your action to. You can change it again if you wish.

Once you have made your final choice, click the "Ok" button.
If there is an important action that is already bound to the key you chose, the next box will ask you if you are sure about your choice. If you accidentally un-bind an important action, do not fear -- you can just re-bind that action.
7. Click "Apply" and "Ok" and you are done!
