The Star Wars Galaxies development team
is getting ready to meet two very important milestones.
The first is lifting the NDA for beta. Our server
stability and game systems are almost to the point
where we are ready to reveal them to the world by
lifting the cone of silence. When we do that we’ll
increase our beta numbers to 50,000 testers.
The other important milestone is E3,
the computer game industry's yearly press event, held
this year on May 14-16th. The last two years SWG walked
away with some major show awards, including “Best
Game of Show.” This year the competition is
going to be a bit stiffer, but we intend to make a
great showing as the press will be treated to seeing
the live game with actual players running around.
We will likely have another video to release to the
public around this event.
Speaking of videos, in May [sic] we released
a narrative gameplay video that focused on role playing
in the Star Wars universe. Check it out and the behind
the scenes comments at the link below. Additionally,
in early April we announced our final planet for release,
the home of a former Rebel hideout, Dantooine!
